Ha Ha, what a bad ass, die, BEST ENDING EVER., kill you

Elegy for an Enemy

Elegy for an Enemy
(For G. H.)

Say, does that stupid earth
Where they have laid her,
Bind still her sullen mirth,
Mirth which betrayed her?
Do the lush grasses hold,
Greenly and glad,
That brittle-perfect gold
She alone had?

Smugly the common crew,
Over their knitting,
Mourn her -- as butchers do
Sheep-throats they're slitting!
She was my enemy,
One of the best of them.
Would she come back to me,
God damn the rest of them!

Damn them, the flabby, fat,
Sleek little darlings!
We gave them tit for tat,
Snarlings for snarlings!
Squashy pomposities,
Shocked at our violence,
Let not one tactful hiss
Break her new silence!

Maids of antiquity,
Look well upon her;
Ice was her chastity,
Spotless her honor.
Neighbors, with breasts of snow,
Dames of much virtue,
How she could flame and glow!
Lord, how she hurt you!

She was a woman, and
Tender -- at times!
(Delicate was her hand)
One of her crimes!
Hair that strayed elfinly,
Lips red as haws,
You, with the ready lie,
Was that the cause?

Rest you, my enemy,
Slain without fault,
Life smacks but tastelessly
Lacking your salt!
Stuck in a bog whence naught
May catapult me,
Come from the grave, long-sought,
Come and insult me!

WE knew that sugared stuff
Poisoned the other;
Rough as the wind is rough,
Sister and brother!
Breathing the ether clear
Others forlorn have found --
Oh, for that peace austere
She and her scorn have found!

My name. yey!

You entered: ________________

There are 19 letters in your name.
Those 19 letters total to 90
There are 7 vowels and 12 consonants in your name.

What your first name means:
Irish Female Variant of Bridget: Derived from the Irish name Brighid, meaning 'the high one' or 'strength.' Brighid was a mythological Celtic goddess of fire and poetry. This name has been used regularly in the British Isles since the 17th century.'Strength.
French Female A French form of the Irish Bridget, meaning the high one, or strength. Famous bearer: 20th century actress Brigitte Bardot.
Celtic Female Strong.

Your number is: 9

The characteristics of #9 are: Humanitarian, giving nature, selflessness, obligations, creative expression.

The expression or destiny for #9:
The expression that you exhibit is represented bythe number 9. Your talents center in humanistic interests and approaches. You like to help others as you were intended to be the 'big brother or big sister' type. You operate best when you follow your feelings and sense of compassion, and allow yourself to be sensitive to the needs of others. You work well with people, and have the potential to inspire. This suggests that you could successfully teach or counsel. Creative ability, imagination and artistic talent (often latent) of the highest order are present in this expression. It's possible that you're not using or developing all of these capabilities at this time. Some of your talents may have been used at an earlier time in your life, and some may still be latent. Be aware of your capabilities, so that you can make use of them at appropriate times.

If you are able to achieve the potential of your natural expression in this life, you are capable of much human understanding and have a lot to give to others. Your personal ambitions are likely to be maintained in a very positive perspective, never losing sight of an interest in people, and a sympathetic, tolerant, broad-minded and compassionate point of view. You are quite idealistic, and disappointed at the lack of perfection in the world. You have a strong awareness of your own feeling as well as those of others. Friendships, affection, and love are extremely important.

Undeveloped or ignored, the negative side of the 9 expression can be very selfish and self-centered. If you do not actively involve yourself with work that benefits others, you may tend to express just the opposite characteristics. It is your role to be very involved with other people and their needs, but it may be difficult for you achieve this role. Aloofness, lack of involvement, and a lack of sensitivity mark the low road of this expression.

Your Soul Urge number is: 6

A Soul Urge number of 6 means:
With a number 6 Soul Urge, you would like to be appreciated for your ability to handle responsibility. Your home and family are likely to be a strong focus for you, perhaps the strongest focus of your life. Friendship, love, and affection are high on your list of priorities for a happy life. You have a lot of diplomatic tendencies in your makeup, as you a able to rectify and balance situations with an innate skill. You like working with people rather than by yourself. It is extremely important for you to have harmony in your environment at all times.

The positive side of the 6 Soul Urge produces a huge capacity for responsibility; you are always there and ready to assume more than your share of the load. If you possess positive 6 Soul Urges and express them, you are known for your generosity, understanding and deep sympathetic attitude. Strong 6 energy is very giving of love, affection, and emotional support. You may have the inclination to teach or serve your community in other idealistic ways. You have natural abilities to help people. You are also likely to have artistic and creative leanings.

If you have an over-supply of 6 energy in your makeup, you may express some of the negative traits common to this number. With such a strong sympathetic attitude, it is easy to become too emotional. Sometimes the desires to render help can be over done, and it can become interfering and an attitude that is too protective, rather than helpful. The person with too much 6 energy often finds that people tend to take advantage of this very giving spirit. You may tend to repress your own needs so that you can cater to the demands from others. At times, there may be a tendency in this, for becoming over-loaded with such demands, and as a result become resentful.

Your Inner Dream number is: 3

An Inner Dream number of 3 means:
You dream of artistic expression; writing, painting, music. You would seek to more freely express your inner feeling and obtain more enjoyment from life. You also dream of being more popular, likable, and appreciated.

frickin' freezing...

Good damn Ice storm....  Made the weekend an inside and lock yourself up weekend.  I did make it to church though yesterday with all of it's purple-ness.  Repaint! Repaint! ^__^

Oh, I've been watching my show on the 'net.  I've watched Grey's Anatomy, and all of Dexter now.  Season 1 Dexter is so much better then Season 2.  Damn Lila.  Now I'm on House...  maybe I'll finally get to watch Smallville too.

Finals are this week.  All of my projects are already turned in last week.  so, I think I did ok on my art history test, except for the church layout part... and wed. is my short story final.  woot=woot.

Oh, I can't flipping wait for Sweeney Todd.  Swing your razor wide, sweeney! Raise to the Sky!

hopefull, looking toward future

(no subject)

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

"Robert Neville looked out over the new people of the earth. He knew he did not belong to them; he knew that, like the vampires, he was anathema and black terror to be destroyed. And, abruptly, the concept came, amusing him even in his pain.
A coughing chuckle filled his throat. He turned and leaned against the wall while he swallowed the pills. Full circle, he thought while the final lethargy crept into his limbs. Full circle. A new terror born in death, a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever.

I am legend."

- I Am Legend by Richard Matheson

"'Have you read it anywhere before?'
'No, certainly not.'
'Really, you haven't read it anywhere? Then, Monsieur,' he says, his face falling, 'that means it isn't true. If it were true, somebody would have thought of it already.'"

Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre

Then you reached out and curled your fingers around mine, so tight. I knew you recognized me. That was the first time I knew I had a heart inside my body. - Wasteland, by Francesca Lia Block

"You see: reason, gentlemen, is a fine thing, that is unquestionable, but reason is only reason and satisfies only man's reasoning capacity, while wanting is a manifestation of the whole of life- that is, the whole of human life, including reason and various little itches. And though our life in this manifestation often turns out to be a bit of trash, still it is life and not just the extraction of a square root. I, for example, quite naturally want to live so as to satisfy my whole capacity for living, and not so as to satisfy just my reasoning capacity alone, which is some twentieth part of my whole capacity for living. What does reason know? Reason knows only what it has managed to learn (some things, perhaps, it will never learn; this is no consolation, but why not say it anyway?), while human nature acts as an entire whole, with everything that is in it, consciously and unconsciously, and though it lies, still it lives. I suspect, gentlemen, that you are looking at me with pity; you repeat to me that an enlightened and developed man, such, in short, as the future man will be, simply cannot knowingly want anything unprofitable for himself, that this is mathematics. I agree completely, it is indeed mathematics. But I repeat to you for the hundredth time, there is only one case, one only, when man may purposely, consciously wish for himself even the harmful, the stupid, even what is stupidest of all: namely, so as to have the right to wish for himself even what is stupidest of all and not be bound by an obligation to wish for himself only what is intelligent. For this stupidest of all, this caprice of ours, gentlemen, may in fact be the most profitable of anything on earth for our sort, especially in certain cases. And in particular it may be more profitable than all other profits even in the case when it is obviously harmful and contradicts the most sensible conclusions of our reason concerning profits- because in any event it preserves for us the chiefest and dearest thing, that is, our personality and our individuality. Now, some insist that this is indeed the dearest of all things for man."

Quotes.

It's so hard to talk when you want to kill yourself. That's above and beyond everything else, and it's not a mental complaint--it's a physical thing, like it's physically hard to open your mouth and make the words come out. They don't come out smooth and in conjunction with your brain the way normal people's words do; they come out in chunks as if from a crushed-ice dispenser; you stumble on them as they gather behind your lower lip. So you just keep quiet.

from It's Kind of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini

If we could do without wars, all the better. I would know a better use for the twelve billions the armed peace costs Europe every year; there are other means to honour physiology than military hospitals...So far, so good, even very good: after the old god has been assassinated, I am ready to rule the world.

- Friedrich Nietzsche, late 1888 to early 1889. One of the final entries into the Nachlass before his collapse. Collected in The Antichrist + Fragments from a Shattering Mind

If you saw her in these moments, you might think she was collecting her thoughts in order to go forward. But I see it another way: Her mind is being overwhelmed by two processes that must simultaneously proceed at full steam. One is to deal with and live in the present world. The other is to re-experience and mourn something that happened long ago. It is as though her lightness pulls her toward heaven, but the extra gravity around her keeps her earthbound.

Or is it that I think too much?

The Pleasure Of My Company By: Steve Martin

He does not yet understand when and how people are hurt. He doesn't understand the subtleties of slights and pains, that it is not the big events that hurt the most but rather the smallest questionable shift in tone at the end of a spoken word that can plow most deeply into the heart. It seems to him that nothing in the world of relationships proves to be generally true, that nothing follows a logical sequence, and that his search for cohesion leaves him empty of answers.

poetry

"She was beautiful, her beauty fell and terrible to look upon. Her face was cold as the vast, frozen wastelands to the south, where a man perishes in an instant, his breath turning to ice in his lungs. Her eyes were the flames of a funeral pyre. Her nails were talons, her hair long and ragged hair of the corpse. Her armor was black fire. At her side, she wore a sword perpetually stained with blood, a sword used to sever the souls from their bodies"
-Author Unknown

"She had an animal sense that vulnerability is dangerous."
-"Suicide Blonde" Darcey Steinke

"Sometimes we love with nothing more than hope. Sometimes we cry with everything except tears. In the end that's all there is: love and its duty, sorrow and its truth. In the end that's all we have - to hold on tight until the dawn."
-Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

"Lovers find their way by such insights and confidences: they're the stars we use to navigate the oceans of desire. And the brightest of those stars are the heartbreaks and sorrows. The most precious gift you can bring to your lover is your suffering. So I took each sadness she confessed to me and pinned it to the sky."
-Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

“I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger than reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.”
-Anais Nin

"If I lose the light of the sun, I will write by candlelight, moonlight, no light. If I lose paper and ink, I will write in blood on forgotten walls. I will write always.I will capture nights all over the world and bring them to you.....
Night is the harvester of memories. Night is the gatherer of thoughts that hide in sunlight. Night brings out the inhabitants from the deep cracks that shun the idiotic noise of the masses. Night empowers and makes one bold. True love and the telling of secrets only happens at night. Sunlight is a passionless interrogator. Candlelight brings out the beauty of the human form."

my heart

Novemeber, November... Gah!

I'm finally starting to feel motivated again.  I did get my chess piece drawing done last weekend, which should have been completed months ago.  I'm going to wait for it to turn a bit, since it's silverpoint.  Now, all I need to do is finish my DE mask.... and get serious on Fanart100 and keep up on class work.

I'm having major issues with scheduling my classes for next semester. the process is almost giving me a headache.  ugh.

I woke up the other day with the idea of transfering... I'm slowly warming up to that... I need to realize that it's not going to be as hard to as I think it is.

I can't believe it's already November.  Halloween sucked-ish.  Why doesn't anyone dress up for classes?

Oh, I reeeeeeeeally want to get Six Feet Under from Amazon.  It's on sale by a bit less then 50%... I just need $150 dollars to get it.  Early Christmas Present? har har.  no.

"You can't change anything from outside it. Standing apart, looking down, taking in the overview, you see the pattern. What's wrong, what's missing. You want to fix it. But you can't patch it. You have to be in it, weaving it. You have to be part of the weaving."
-Four Ways to Forgiveness by Ursula K. LeGuin

I know this will sound glib,
but don't pretend you aren't feeling what you feel.
That's how things slide into hell.

"Just one thing," she says, raising her head and looking me straight in the eye. "I want you to remember me. If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets."

It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.

Poetry and Quotes for thought

I think we ought to only read the kind of books that wound and stab us. If the book we are reading doesn't wake us up with a blow on the head, what are we reading it for? . . . We need books that affect us like a disaster, that grieve us deeply, like the death of someone we loved more than ourselves, like being banished into the forest far from everyone, like a suicide. A book must be the axe for the frozen sea inside us.
"Letters to Friends, Family, and Editors" Kafka

Could fulfillment ever be felt as deeply as loss? Romantically she decided that love must surely reside in the gap between desire and fulfillment, in the lack, not the contentment. Love was the ache, the anticipation, the retreat, everything around it but the emotion itself.
-The Inheritance of Loss, Kiran Desai

"We ended up putting our conscience in the colour of blood and in the salt of tears, and, as if that was not enough, we made our eyes into a kind of mirror turned inwards, with the result that they often show without reserve what we are verbally trying to deny."
-Blindness by Jose Saramago

"There are two kinds of love...in the safe kind, you look for someone who's exactly like you. It's what most folks settle for. But then there's the other kind of love. Everyone's born with a ragged edge, and some folks crave the piece that's a perfect fit. You'll search for it forever, if you have to. And if you're lucky enough to find it, it looks so right, you start to tear at your own seams, thinking, maybe, I could look just as perfect. But then, of course, when you try to get close to their other half, you don't fit anymore. That kind of love...you come out of it a different person than when you started."
-Vanishing Acts, Jodi Picoult

The house is full of bad dreams. They lurk in the curtians like ugly smells, they infest the carpets like the dust mites that may kill babies in their cots. Shake the curtians, beat the carpets: the dreams are tenacious, they cannot be dislodged. They hatch, they multiply.
-'The Worry Box' Marion Halligan

"She was cynical, sometimes, yes. She could be curt when she grew impatient with people, which was often. But she was romantic, always."
-The Dog Walker by Leslie Schnur

Yey... Halloween's tomorrow.  What am I going to do?   I'm still upset about my 2D design class not transfering... It's taking up time and money I don't want to sacrifice for it. Besides it going to be an easy A.

The humiliation I go through
when I think of my past
can only be described as grace.
We are created by being destroyed.
-Franz Wright, from “Letter, January 1998″

She...would dance herself off her feet and laugh and joke...while at night she would cry and pray and find no peace of mind and frequently spend her time till morning wandering about her room sorrowfully wringing her hands or sitting, all pale and cold... Day would dawn and she would...go out and laugh and chatter.
-Ivan Turgenev "Fathers and Sons"

All my life, I thought of love as some kind of voluntary enslavement. Well, that's a lie: freedom only exists when love is present. The person who gives him or herself wholly, the person who feels freest, is the person who loves most wholeheartedly.

my heart

The pirate attack had been a complete surprise:

I finished reading Peter Pan.  Quite charming....

Stars are beautiful, but they may not take an active part in anything, they must just look on for ever. It is a punishment put on them for something they did so long ago that no star now knows what it was. So the older ones have become glassy-eyed and seldom speak (winking is the star language), but the little ones still wonder. They are not really friendly to Peter, who has a mischievious way of stealing up behind them and trying to blow them out; but they are so fond of fun that they were on his side tonight, and anxious to get the grown-ups out of the way. So as soon as the door of 27 closed on Mr and Mrs Darling there was a commotion in the firmament, and the smallest of all the stars in the Milky Way screamed out:
'Now, Peter!'

"You see, Wendy, when the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies."

The pirate attack had been a complete surprise:
a sure proof that the unscrupulous Hook had
conducted it improperly, for to surprise red
skins fairly is beyond the wit of the white man.

In the midst of them, the blackest and largest jewel

in that dark setting, reclined James Hook, or as he
wrote himself, Jas. Hook, of whom it is said he was
the only man that the Sea-Cook feared. He lay at
his ease in a rough chariot drawn and propelled by
his men, and instead of a right hand he had the iron
hook with which ever and anon he encouraged them
to increase their pace. As dogs this terrible man treat
ed and addressed them, and as dogs they obeyed him.
In person he was cadaverous and blackavized, and his
hair was dressed in long curls, which at a little dis
tance looked like black candles, and gave a singularly
threatening expression to his handsome countenance.
His eyes were of the blue of the forget-me-not, and of
a profound melancholy, save when he was plunging
his hook into you, at which time two red spots ap
peared in them and lit them up horribly. In manner,
something of the grand seigneur still clung to him, so
that he even ripped you up with an air, and I have
been told that he was a raconteur of repute. He was
never more sinister than when he was most polite,
which is probably the truest test of breeding; and the
elegance of his diction, even when he was swearing,
no less than the distinction of his demeanour, showed
him one of a different caste from his crew. A man
of indomitable courage, it was said of him that the
only thing he shied at was the sight of his own blood,
which was thick and of an unusual colour. In dress
he somewhat aped the attire associated with the name

of Charles II., having heard it said in some earlier
period of his career that he bore a strange resemblance

to the ill-fated Stuarts; and in his mouth he
had a holder of his own contrivance which enabled
him to smoke two cigars at once. But undoubtedly
the grimmest part of him was his iron claw.

Let us now kill a pirate, to show Hook's method.
Skylights will do. As they pass, Skylights lurches
clumsily against him, ruffling his lace collar; the
hook shoots forth, there is a tearing sound and one
screech, then the body is kicked aside, and the pirates
pass on. He has not even taken the cigars from his
mouth.

Such is the terrible man against whom Peter Pan
is pitted. Which will win?

I'm amazed at how much the movie differs from the book, and yet how everything fits perfectly into what Barrie's intentions were.  Or maybe I mean it fits his child-like innocence and fancy tone.  I almost like the movie better, at least for a few parts or themes.  When Hook sees Peter with Wendy for the first time he realizes how alone he is because Peter isn't focusing on him is one of my favorites scenes.  I like the idea of Wendy giving him an actual thimble instead of a kiss at the beginning... and giving the kiss at the end, which ties in so much better because of the Childhood/ Young Love theme that they've amplified.   Wendy being in cahoots with Hook and becoming a pirate to tell them Fairy tales
added a lot of strength and in-dependency to Wendy's character.   I think that touch makes you  feel like you are caught up  in a child's daydreams that you  have forgotten how to conjure.  Hook pointing out all of Pan's flaw's to Wendy about him not growing up and remaining just a boy was quite intense.  His growing interest in her was quite entertaining too. haha.  Oh, that and him yelling like a little school girl... made my day, considering how vicious he is.. :)

Why... why did this movies fail at the box office?
I love stephen, sneak peak, AGH! Spoilers

Discworld Love.

Alas, My life is boring and I have nothing to report on... except for I have to retake a class again because it didn't transfer... erg.  Oh, I finished reading Peter Pan.  That was exciting.  Now I have to decide if I like it better than the movie, which for how much it deviated from the story, It's actually better in some areas.  I still have to ponder on it.

Anyways, for excitement, here's some amazing Discworld quotes from witty Terry Prachett.  Enjoy!
